fall campout

On to the next and final outdoor camping event this coming weekend…the camp out, DOG (Dutch Oven Gathering) potluck and jam will be held at Lewis and Clark Trail State Park, Dayton WA. Oct 4-6, 2013.  We have a  group camp reserved. This site can hold a few RVs and a few tents and there are campsites around the area also. Part of the group site will be the host site for the Dutch oven dinner and  potluck on Saturday afternoon with a canopy covered separate area for jamming.  Pots on the table at 2:00 PM, that will leave plenty of time for visiting, music and travel time for you folks just coming for the day.
Cooks just coming for the day are welcome to set up your day cook stations at the group site, if you are interested in learning about cast iron cooking please come and try it out or bring along a side dish to add to the pot luck. Acoustic musicians in the vicinity are welcome to come for the potluck and jam.  Please remember the state park Discover pass charge for day use folks, $10 a day per car, or the $30 yearly pass.
*Note to DO cooks camping, Saturday morning we would like to do a Mantz-Powers Wandering Breakfast.  This is…anytime you awake,  if you feel like it…and if you are cooking outside… others may wander to your camp with an empty plate and coffee cup in hand to  sample your hot breakfast dish. You also wander…leaving your pot available. This was always a favorite…Thank you Paul M-P!
