Venison Stew and Cornbread

Another great fall dinner: venison stew cooked in a 12 inch deep Dutch oven and cornbread cooked in a 10 inch Dutch oven. I added a jalapeno pepper to the stew to add a little kick. Sometimes (not this time) I add a can of green chilies and cheese to the cornbread to change things up a little bit.can of green chilies and cheese to the cornbread to change things up a little bit.

No Electricity? No Problem!

The picture shows an entire meal cooked in Dutch Ovens and no electricity was needed. Pictured from left to right is venison, rice and artichokes.  Like what you see? Come to the Dutch Oven Rendezvous at Sacajawea State Park in Pasco the 2nd weekend in June to find out how you to can cook like this!

This is a picture of my very inexpensive

Router Cooking Table

Router Cooking Table

cooking table. This has become my favorite little table when cooking only one pot. It’s a metal router table I bought at a yard sale for $1.00 and a metal oil pan I paid $5.00 for at the hardware store. Right now I like this better than my lodge table – all made in the USA (unlike the Lodge tables)! Just for information I am cooking a lemon cake and then will top off with fresh strawberries -that are finally in season and a little chocolate sauce.
